A very large, finely woven kilim from the border region between Serbia and Bulgaria, with a design featuring a "tree-of-life" in the center surrounded by a variety of stylized plant and animal forms and even a few human figures. This very high quality example dating from the early part of the 20th century and is in a remarkable state of preservation.
