A delightfully exuberant antique "suzani" embroidery in large square-ish format, probably made in Tashkent, presently the capital of Uzbekistan. The motifs are rendered in silk on red cotton cloth. Used as ceremonial bed covers and wall hangings, pieces like this are associated with local wedding customs.
Condition & Remarks
Well preserved and clean. Wear consistent with age and use.
