Iran, Northern Persia: Mid-20th Century
Flat-weave (kilim): wool
An old tribal flat-weave from Northern Iran, woven in three narrow panels, originally used as a simple, utilitarian floor cover in the weaver's household. The hand-spun wool in natural ivory and brown is interspersed with colorful stripes.

Despite its humble origins, the kilim has tremendous modern/minimalist appeal and great authentic charm that cannot be imitated by its contemporary look-alikes.
