Indigo Cotton "Jajim"

(DK-111-35)
6'5" x 6'10" (196cm x 208cm)
Iran, Northwest Persia: Early 20th Century
Flat-weave: cotton
An old tribal cover by the Shahsavan of Azerbaijan and Northern Iran, woven with hand-spun cotton in alternating stripes of indigo and white. With its wonderful patina and blanket-like handle, it would be ideal as a bed cover, throw blanket or table cover. A great example of this increasingly hard-to-find type.
