A superb antique Persian carpet of massive proportions, attributed to the Bakhtiari tribes of Southwestern Iran. Ascending branches with intricate foliage, laden with grapes, pomegranates, cherries, pears, with nightingales nibbling on them, evoke the ideal image of a paradise-like garden, an enduring theme in Persian culture and art. The creativity of very skilled tribal weavers, combined with brilliant natural dyes and softest wool make this carpet one of the best examples of its kind.
