A good example of Southwest Persian tribal weaving from the early 20th century, woven by the Khamseh and Qashqai tribal groups settled around the city of Shiraz. Rich tribal imagery including a profusion of mythical birds and other creatures, a characteristic theme of this region. Deeply saturated colors, excellent wool.
