Turkey, Central Anatolia: Late 19th Century
Flat-weave, "jijim" brocading: wool
An antique tribal flat-weave from West-Central Turkey, woven in the intricate "jijim" brocading technique. The design and color palette are characteristic of the Sivrihisar region. A very nice example that is increasingly hard to find.
