An old tribal flat-weave from Southern Iran, attributed to Afshar weavers, intented for use as a "sofra", a meal mat used by the family. This type of weaving has a very sturdy construction with a brocaded border and tightly wrapped edges. It can be used as a sturdy floor rug, but also as a table cover or a wall hanging.
