A wonderful example of village weaving from Western Turkey, from the twilight years of a centuries-old tradition. Every tribal group in this once prolific region produced weavings like this that featured their distinct designs and colors. A small rug like this would have had the pride of place among the many woven items in a young woman's dowry. A beautiful, authentic tribal item that is increasingly hard to find.
