An old tribal rug from Central Turkey, with loosely knotted, shaggy pile in angora goat hair, a silky, shiny fiber better known as mohair. Such rugs were used as floor covers, blankets or wall hangings to provide warmth and comfort. This is a particularly nice example in excellent state of preservation.
