A fascinating Moroccan Berber carpet, attributed to the Ait bou Ichaouen tribes who inhabit the easternmost reaches of the High Atlas, on the edge of the Sahara Desert.

Working within the traditions of her tribe, the weaver nonetheless created her unique interpretation of age-old themes that defies simplistic explanations.
