A fascinating Moroccan Berber carpet, attributed to the Ait bou Ichaouen tribes. The Berber aesthetic is immediately evident but the design is unique in our experience.

At the eastern end of the High Atlas range, on the edge of the Sahara, the Ait bou Ichaouen territory was hard to reach until the last decade of the 20th century. Their weavings are one of the last truly great discoveries of authentic tribal art.
