Konya Long Rug

(DK-95-2)
3'9" x 10'9" (114cm x 328cm)
Turkey, Central Anatolia: Mid-20th Century
Knotted pile: wool
A very nice example of 20th century village weaving from Central Turkey. The elongated format is typical, woven on traditionally narrow looms and used to cover the low built-in benches, called "divan," in addition to covering the floors. The wool and weaving quality is excellent. The rug is sturdy and very well preserved. A rare find these days.
Condition & Remarks
