Images of gardens of pleasure and animal hunting scenes, with lions and tigers chasing their prey, have always been among the most popular themes in classical carpet design. This beautiful old Turkish carpet displays a charming and playful take on this classical tradition. The carpet is knotted with mercerized cotton which has a lustrous appearance and is stronger than regular cotton, these rugs were often mistaken as silk.
