A great old village rug from Central Turkey, woven in the shaggy “tulu” tradition, featuring a well-known design of concentric multi-colored diamonds. Note how the weaver used pieces of cotton rag, like wish knots, which are traditional in many parts of Turkey. The original flat-woven ends are very well preserved.
