A very large tribal flat-weave from Southeastern Turkey, woven with goat hair and wool in natural dark brown, gray and beige bands, sprinkled with brightly colored thin stripes. A kilim like this would have been used as a utilitarian, everyday floor cover in the weaver's household. Despite its humble origins, this is a very appealing piece with authentic simplicity.
