(DK-109-26)
6'4" x 12' (193cm x 366cm)
Morocco, Middle Atlas Mountains: Mid-20th Century, Circa 1970
Knotted pile: wool
A very nice example of Moroccan Berber weaving by the Beni Ouarain tribes of the Middle Atlas Mountains. Originally used as a bed for the weaver's family, this rug displays a simple interpretation of the characteristic diamond grid. The wool quality is excellent with great patina acquired through gentle use. Authentic pieces like this are increasingly hard to find.
