11'7" x 11'11" (353cm x 363cm) Turkey, Central Anatolia: Late 20th Century Flat-weave (kilim): jute
$ on request Sold
A very large kilim from Central Turkey, woven in six narrow panels of uneven length, with a few random colorful stripes. Such kilims were used in the fields to dry fruits, etc. during harvest time. Un-dyed jute (burlap) has turned white and became very soft through decades of use in the fields. This is one of the nicest we've found in a long time.
(All panels can be shortened to be even, if desired. Please inquire.)
Condition & Remarks
Very well preserved, sturdy and clean
A word of caution: as with any light colored floor cover, we recommend using this kilim where it will not stain easily.
