An antique tribal rug from the Iran-Afghan border area, attributed to groups generally defined as Baluch. Deep saturated colors, highly stylized geometric designs are hallmarks of this region's weaving traditions. A simple design of small repeat pattern is enlivened by the dramatic "abrash", color shifts in the field. In excellent state of preservation, including flat-woven skirts at both ends.
