Knotted pile: wool
A lovely old village rug from Central Turkey with shaggy pile, known as "tulu", or "hairy" in Turkish. It belongs to a well-known design type with multiple concentric diamonds that consist of multi-colored squares - used for sitting and sleeping on, tulu rugs usually have minimal or no ornamentation and simple repeat patterns like this are common. As expected, the wool is of excellent quality, the rug has great patina and is very well preserved.
Condition & Remarks
