A very handsome antique rug by one of the so-called Baluch tribal groups inhabiting the border regions of Iran and Afghanistan. The intricately detailed design borrows many elements from the weavings of the neighbouring Turkmen tribes, which the Baluch are known to do. The rug has wonderful wool and patina, richly saturated colors and is in excellent state of preservation.
