An old kilim from Karabagh, a region in the Caucasian mountains between Armenia and Azerbaijan, displaying a familiar color palette and stylized floral design that is popular in this region. Dated 1949 with initials in Armenian at the top left corner.
A very good quality example, preserved in excellent condition - such kilims would often be displayed on the walls rather than being used as floor covers.
