Wool pile on wool foundation: wool
A highly collectible antique rug, attributed to the Ersari Turkmen tribes in Central Asia, in a more ornate style often referred to as "Beshir." A very good example in a rare small size. The design is well-known but is very well articulated here and the colors are just great. The rug survived in a very good state of preservation, with no significant repairs to speak of.
Condition & Remarks
Very well preserved, sturdy and clean.
