Flat-weave (kilim): wool
A large tribal flat-weave from Eastern Turkey, intended as a simple, everyday floor cover in the weaver's household - a "blanket" for the floor. It consists of nine vertical panels, woven on a narrow floor loom and dip dyed resulting in variations in color intensity. A very lovely and unusually large example of this rare type.
