A lovely old shaggy rug from West-Central Turkey, knotted with long and loose strands of Angora goat hair (mohair), woven in three narrow panels, dip-dyed in emerald green and fuchsia. Such rugs were used to provide warmth and comfort in the weaver's household. This one certainly feels like a heavy blanket with great handle, patina and sheen.
